I've lived in Lubbock most all my life. I went to Lubbock High my sophomore year, transferred to Estacado my junior year. I was Vice President of the Jr. Class. Then transferred back to Lubbock High my senior year. Even though I didn't graduate from Lubbock High, I was able to get my diploma through the carpenter's apprentice school I attended. Cathy Lindley and I married Feb 1969.
I was drafted into the Army in 1970 and served 10 months in Vietnam. It wasn't my choice to go into the military, but I'm glad I had the chance to serve my country. I've been happily married to my childhood sweetheart, Cathy Lindley Scott, for 55 years. We have 2 children, Sherry and Dewayne.
We have 5 grandchildren and 5great-grandchildren.
I retired in the fall of last year after working 46 years in the cabinet and trim business.
