Joe Scott*
I've lived in Lubbock most all my life. I went to Lubbock High my sophomore year, transferred to Estacado my junior year. I was Vice President of the Jr. Class. Then transferred back to Lubbock High my senior year. Even though I didn't graduate from Lubbock High, I was able to get my diploma through the carpenter's apprentice school I attended. Cathy Lindley and I married Feb 1969.
I was drafted into the Army in 1970 and served 10 months in Vietnam. It wasn't my choice to go into the military, but I'm glad I had the chance to serve my country. I've been happily married to my childhood sweetheart, Cathy Lindley Scott, for 50 years. We have 2 children, Sherry and Dewayne.
Our daughter Sherry lives in Post and has worked at the Giles Dalby Federal Prison as the Commissary Supervisor since it opened over 20 years ago.
Our son, Dewayne, works with me in my company, Scott's Woodwork, building cabinets and doing trim work.
We have 5 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
